Andy Bowman

I'm the principal of our Company which I run together with my wife Carole.

I have always had a passion for motorsport in most of its forms and from the 70s it dominated my professional life and that of our family. I was first grounded in the British Touring Car Championship as a mechanic working on our Ford dealerships Capris and included the first exposure to long distance races such as the Spa 24h which has always stayed with me as one of my favourite types of event.

After some great success it was time to move on to other things. With Bob Houghton I gained experience of many F1 race cars and some of the most famous Ferrari F1 & sports racing cars they made. We also ran in a sports prototype series called Thundersports  firstly with a Lola Mazda and then with a TIGA BMW. Both of which were very successful and technically I was allowed to develope some ideas. After a very brief time at Lamborghini’s C1 project (abandoned) I moved to Germany to do DTM and World Touring cars with HWRTs Ford Team again success followed before being asked to join a new team called AMG. My role was to make an ‘English’ team in Germany. So for 10 years, that’s what I did. From the 190 Evo 1 to the GT1 CLK GTR – and many projects in between.

Whilst at AMG I started using hydraulics to improve the cars performance with great success which in turn lead me back to the UK to be Head of Hydraulics , Damping and Refuelling for the Stewart Grand Prix team. Applying the experience and knowledge from AMG, I was able to develop a team of specialists at the track and factory and a state of the art Hydraulics facility, Damper lab and Refuelling service facility. In turn the reliability and performance increased as more capability to test in house was developed. Progressive investment in technology and materials saw season on  season gains and as the team morphed into Jaguar Racing and then Red Bull our practices were applied to our sister team Toro Ross and our engine suppliers – Cosworth,  Ferrari & Renault.

After 10 years it was time to change as I found a shift to ‘conservative’ instead of outright performance was changing my teams focus so I was looking for a new challenge which I found helping Dallara sort out their new GP2 car before running a 2 car Super league formula team.

The team was predominantly staffed by the family and associates and operated out of Brussels. The team showed great reliability of the other cars in the series and resulted in the organisation asking us to run  4  cars in the next season. We worked towards that objective only to have the organisation  collapse.  A brief spell setting up JRM and running race and rally programmes, I was asked to help start the Manor GP / Virgin F1 Racing programme but, ultimately, I found it wasn’t a good fit so I left at the end of the first season.

Starting the business allowed us a degree of freedom to do multiple projects with clients all over the world and to enter into our own motorcycle sport programme.

We have consulted into Aston Martin, Jaguar Land Rover on a number of projects and have designed and manufactured specialist equipment for their new technology cars.
